Assists in the central communication between Carilion Clinic, patients and medical staff. Answers call in high-volume environments in a 24-hour department. Responds to messages and information requests from eight hospitals as well as 1200 healthcare professionals and their practices. Our patients, community and staff depend on the call center for communication. It is essential to provide excellent customer service. Responsible for making the right decisions, reasoning and problem-solving in order to address messages from providers regarding patient care. Bilingualism is an asset.

What we need

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree required or continuing administrative education preferred.

Experience: Three-year experiences in customer service or call center positions, preferably in healthcare.

Other Minimum Qualifications Must be customer driven A minimum typing speed of 35 words per hour is required. Ability to work in stressful situations with different groups. Able to handle a large volume of information calls and work in a technologically demanding environment. Effective multitasking is essential. Expertise in Microsoft software programs and medical terminology is preferred. Bilingual preferred.
