Total Sono offers OB/GYN ultrasound services. It is led by a network MFM consultants who are board-certified and backed up by a team that includes certified ultrasound technologists, patient liaisons, and other industry professionals. Total Sono is looking for a Medical Biller who specializes in Maternal Fetal Medicine, OB/GYN.
Responsible for prompt payment to insurance companies for services rendered. This can be achieved by timely submission of claims to insurance companies, diligent review and payment of aged claims and aggressive pursuit of denied/error claims.
- Based on physician documentation, assigns ICD10 and CPT codes for patient records.
- Data extracted from medical records to process patient bills and bill payers.
- Responsible for reviewing all remittances to verify that payment was received accurately.
- Make sure you keep accurate and timely notes.
- Responsible for notifying Supervisors and Managers of any issues that could impact claims resolution.
- Assure that billing inventory is maintained in accordance with the company’s process activity metrics.
- Responsible for prompt payment to insurance companies for services rendered. This can be achieved by timely submission of claims to insurance companies, diligent review and payment of aged claims, as well as aggressive efforts in denying/error claims.
- Responsible for receiving insurance payments and meeting specified goals as set by supervisors.
- To resolve billing problems, you can follow up by telephone or online with your payers
- For billing purposes, assign CPT and Diagnosis codes
- In a timely fashion, appeal denied claims
- In a timely fashion, submit corrected claims for errors not found
- Identifies trends and communicates them to the Medical Director promptly and effectively.
- All refunds must be processed (payer and patient).
- Helps patients with their COB problems, answering questions and resolving any complaints
- Quick response to all insurance correspondence
- All unpaid claims must be worked out monthly
- Respect HIPAA by maintaining strict confidentiality
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in Professional Coding/Billing required
- Required: Experience in a medical office environment
- Min. Minimum 5 years experience in billing
Knowledge
- Revenue cycle/medical billing
- Basic coding of CPT and ICD-10 codes sets;
- Medical terminology
