Deputy Sheriff Job Vacancy In Wisconsin, USA

JOB REQUIREMENTS –

Applications are being accepted for the creation of an eligibility list for Douglas County Sheriff positions for current or future vacancies. Structured interviews will be weighed at 100%. If a DD214 has been submitted, veteran points will be added. Pre-employment physical and psychological post-offer exams must be passed. Background investigation, background check, and pre-employment physical must all be passed. Candidates who are Wisconsin law enforcer certified (have completed a Wisconsin 720-hour academy), are currently employed in a Wisconsin law enforcement agency, or are eligible to take the Wisconsin law enforcer reciprocity exam are eligible for applications. 

Before the February 28th, 2023 application deadline, applicants must attach a copy of their Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board certificate or other documentation proving their eligibility. The Sheriff and Chief deputy have essential duties. Applicants must submit a copy of their Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board or documentation supporting their eligibility before the February 28, 2023 deadline. Patrol Division: Drive in an automobile to patrol the area and look for suspicious or dangerous conditions. Respond to public calls regarding crime. 

Court Security: Transport prisoners from and to detention facilities; Conduct and guard prisoners while they are in court; Douglas County is an Equal Opportunity employer.

OTHER EXPERIENCES AND QALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 60 credits or a two-year Associate Degree in criminal justice/police sciences or another related field is preferred. You must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old. You must pass a background check and not be convicted of a crime amounting to a felony unless the conviction is reversed or a pardon granted. You must submit transcripts from college at the time you apply but before the deadline. Attach transcripts to your online application.
