This position is critical to clinical laboratory science and works in a high-volume, production-based environment.
This position has a schedule: Monday-Friday 2:30 pm–11:00 pm.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Sort and receive clinical laboratory specimens
- Prepare specimens for analysis and testing
- Data entry and/or scanning of patient and specimen information
- Perform minor instrumentation maintenance and ensure that all equipment in the lab is functioning properly
- Troubleshoot any specimen-related issues
- As needed, replenish test bench supplies
- Keep your workplace clean and safe
- Complete records logs and administrative duties, as required
- To ensure safety and quality, follow all Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Experience in production, medical/lab work, or other related fields is preferred
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Capability to identify specimens accurately
- Basic computer skills and data entry
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established turnaround times
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods
- You must pass a standard color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime if necessary
