Grant County Public Hospital District No. The first service area included Marlin, Warden, and Moses Lake. More than 100 volunteers visited doors looking for donations to build a hospital in the area.
The project included the addition of 60,000 square feet of space and the modernization of another 60,000 square feet of space. These improvements included private rooms, a brand new Advanced Care Unit, a brand new Leiv Kvamme Mother and Baby Center and a new lobby and cafeteria. There were also expanded family and patient waiting areas.
Samaritan continues to serve our community through the expansion of our specialty services areas, including podiatry and sports medicine, OB/GYN and gastroenterology. We also offer pediatrics (including pediatric psychiatry) and adult and internal medicine. We also provide pain management and behavioral health.
The Washington State Department of Health (WSDH) also gave us a full trauma service level III designation. This included a certified and better emergency department to serve the communities of the Inland Northwest.
To better describe the role of our ACU, we changed its name to “ICU”. Samaritan Healthcare has 12 ICU beds licensed with the WSDH. WSDH uses the “ICU” designation to describe the care we provide to Samaritan patients in need of intensive, intermediate, or telemetry care.
